Physicians Formula The Perfect Matcha 3-in-1 Melting Cleansing Balm

Keys and Specifications

  • Price: $13.99
  • Skin Type: All
  • Formula: Balm
  • Packaging: Plastic container with a spatula

Unboxing: I was in search of a good makeup remover that gives me the desired result. When I got my hands on Physicians Formula Cleansing balm, I got hooked on it completely. It comes in a plastic container with a screw top and a spatula for efficient application. It cost me around $13.99.

Review: Want to have a cleansing balm that is a great alternative to any high-end cleansing balm? You should do this one. It is a 3-in-1 cleansing balm that is made to remove makeup from the face, eyes, and lips. Like other cleansing balms, it is in the texture of a balm having a smooth feel.

I take out the balm in my hands using a spatula and melt it by rubbing it between my fingertips. I transform it to oil which is a little runny in consistency. It is hard to break down the makeup on a dry face using only balm so I spray a few drops of water to emulsify it. This balm absorbs all of the makeup content in a few swipes.

I then clean the balm either with a damped washcloth or with water. I feel that rinsing it only with water left some greasiness on my face. So, I prefer to clean it with a washcloth. It soothes and softens my skin and with regular use of it, it has improved my skin’s overall appearance.

It is dermatologically tested, cruelty-free, paraben-free, gluten-free, and vegan. This balm is non-comedogenic and clears my clogged pores. Infused with tea tree, matcha green tea, bamboo shoot, and lotus extract it a good to be used on all skin types.

Pros

  • It is one of the best drugstore affordable balms.
  • A 3-in-1 cleansing balm, good for face, eyes, and lips makeup removal.
  • It is available in two different sizes.
  • Good for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers.
  • It comes along with a spatula for easy application.
  • I feel that after using this balm my skin has improved.

Cons

  • It has a fragrance that may irritate some skin.
  • When the balm melts into oil, it has a runny consistency.

My Verdict

Physicians’ formula cleansing balm is one of the best purchases that I have made. It removes makeup in one go and it doesn’t require me to hard scrub on my face. Enriched with the goodness of natural ingredients it can be used on every skin type. It keeps my skin hydrated and nourished.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is micellar water or cleansing balm better?

Micellar water is a water-based makeup remover. It only removes minimal or light makeup that too with a lot of rubbing the cotton swabs or cotton pads on the skin. It can irritate the skin.

Cleansing balms are oil-based having water content makeup removers. They are used to remove heavy and waterproof makeup by gently massaging the balm into your skin. Enriched with skin-friendly ingredients these balms provide benefits to the skin.

My verdict: Cleansing balm is better than micellar water.

Do I need to cleanse after using cleansing balm?

The cleansing balm melts the makeup by penetrating deep into the skin and leaving no makeup residue. I clean the balm with a washcloth and double-cleanse it with a gentle cleanser so that my skin is completely clean and free from any dirt, impurities, and traces of makeup. I suggest you cleanse after using a cleansing balm because it removes the greasiness of the balm from your face.

Should I use a cleansing balm if I don’t wear makeup?

Cleansing balms are not only the best makeup removers but also cleansers for your face. They cleanse your face removing dirt, and impurities and clearing your clogged pores giving you fresh and hydrated skin. I have used it even when I’m not wearing makeup. It keeps my skin soft and smooth. In my opinion, it can be used as a moisturizer for those people who have dry skin.

Can we use Vaseline as a cleansing balm?

Vaseline is formulated in the same way as the cleansing balm but it is greasier in texture than a cleansing balm. When I run out of my cleansing balm, I prefer to use Vaseline as my cleanser to remove my face and to deep cleanse my face. It works the same for me. But Vaseline can be better used as a moisturizer.
